Meet Rachel
Hi, I’m Rachel Castille, founder of Gateway Africa. I’m an American living in Nairobi, Kenya, and much of this work has grown out of my own experience learning how to live, build, connect, and create life here.
Gateway Africa is not built on the idea that one person can explain an entire country or continent. My role is to listen, help people prepare, and connect them with useful information, trusted relationships, and local voices when they matter. The heart is simple: help people enter Kenya with greater clarity, respect, and support.

The Bigger Vision
Gateway Africa is beginning in Kenya, with Nairobi as our current home base. Over time, the vision is to cultivate trusted relationships with local hosts, vendors, professionals, communities, and partners in other parts of Africa so people can navigate travel, relocation, connection, business, and longer-term life on the continent more wisely.
We are building slowly and relationally. Expansion will follow real relationships, local expertise, and lived realities rather than assuming one African experience can speak for another.
Questions Before You Book
Is this the right fit?
Gateway Africa is for people who want to approach Kenya with curiosity, respect, and a desire to prepare well. We currently serve travelers, families, entrepreneurs, ministers, business builders, and others exploring a meaningful connection with Kenya.
Is this only for those moving?
No. You may be visiting for the first time, preparing for an extended stay, exploring relocation, coming for ministry or business, or simply trying to understand whether Kenya could be part of your next season.
Do you handle the bookings for me?
Gateway Africa is not a traditional travel agency. We can recommend trusted providers, help you understand your options, and coordinate introductions or communication where appropriate. You remain free to choose the providers you want to use, and third-party services are paid separately unless we specifically agree otherwise.
What does the coordination fee cover?
The $650 Arrival Coordination fee covers the Gateway Africa service itself: your 60-minute Arrival Planning Call, personalized Kenya Arrival Plan & Next Steps, 30 days of active pre-arrival coordination, a Gateway Africa Arrival Host for your Nairobi landing, and arrival-related support through your first 48 hours in Kenya. Transportation, accommodation, meals, activities, connectivity, and other third-party costs are separate.
Can I start with just a talk?
Yes. The Gateway Africa Consultation is a good place to begin when you want clarity before deciding what kind of support, if any, you need next. Booking a Consultation does not obligate you to book Arrival Coordination.
Is this only for Kenya?
For now, our paid services are focused on Kenya, with Nairobi as our current operating base. Gateway Africa has a larger vision for Africa over time, but we will only expand where trusted local relationships, grounded knowledge, and local expertise are in place.
When should we start?
You can book as soon as your plans are real. Your Arrival Planning Call can happen earlier, while active Arrival Coordination begins 30 days before you arrive. Booking appointments must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance.
